My name is Beth and I am a 37 year old girl (please let me still refer to myself as a girl – I cant quite cope with woman just yet and, as much as I would love to disagree with myself, lady just doesn’t suit me). I live in a garden flat in Highgate in North London (however those wishing to hit an easy nerve would describe it as a basement in Archway) with my lovely husband Matt and my equally lovely baby son Oliver.

What more do you need to know? Well in my former life, before I decided sick might smell but dribble was perfectly acceptable on ones shoulder, I was a journalist. After doing my stint on local papers I worked as a video journalist at the Press Association covering all sorts of important and interesting things. I even went inside Buckingham Palace, 10 Downing Street and spoke to Madonna and David Beckham, although not on the same day. Then on the 2nd April 2015 something happened that would change my life forever. It hurt A LOT and I made some amazing guttural noises that even I didn’t know I was capable and then there he was – Oliver Charles Smart was born, this little purple blob weighing less than 7lbs. I wonder if he knew how much he was going to change everything I ever thought about.ollieandbeth

So now I am a mum getting through every day as best I can and with as little dramas as possible and I was just starting to think I was getting this malarkey. Ollie is sleeping through the night, eats everything I offer him and even has a little routine – when we found out we had totally bolloxed up – you see I am pregnant again – 3 months pregnant with a 10 month old – YIKES I hear you say!!
